VAWDASV stands for Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. It's a term that encompasses a range of forms of violence, including:
- Rape
- Sexual harassment
- Female Genital Mutilation
- Honour based violence
- Forced marriage
- Stalking
- Trafficking
VAWDASV is a major public health issue, a criminal justice issue, and a violation of human rights. The Welsh Government has a National Strategy on VAWDASV that runs from 2022 to 2026. The strategy is based on a "blueprint" approach that involves a range of organisations working together to achieve the strategy's objectives.
