Summer Holiday Resources from Kooth

Kooth is a digital mental health platform that gives children and young people immediate access to an online community of peers and a team of experienced, accredited counsellors. Access is free of the typical barriers to support - no waiting times, no referrals, no thresholds to meet and complete anonymity. The service is open for support 365 days per year, between 12pm-10pm on weekdays, and 6pm-10pm on weekends and holidays.

With the long holiday around the corner, it's a great time to remind the pupils of this support and how they can access it should they need to.

Below are links to 3 useful Summer resources - two of which are great for posting on Twitter so that parents/carers can see that Kooth is still available. You may also wish to post them on your school's parent/carer network should you have one. The 3rd is a Summer wellbeing checklist which you can print and hand out, or can post on social media.

A link to a recording of a Kooth sign-up session is available below. This is an interactive session which takes place in a computer room at the school, helping pupils sign up and have a look around the site with a few activities thrown in there as well. This is an amazing way to leave a lasting impression on the pupils before the holidays, they will also have their own Kooth account to use by the end of the session. It's quite simple to run, you will just need a teacher present to pause the recording whenever Evan from Kooth says to and around 40 minutes to get through the steps.

You can find the recording here.
