Police and Crime Plan Consultation

Have you taken part?

Your Police & Crime Commissioner, Emma Wools is responsible for setting the budget for South Wales Police, which includes the amount residents contribute towards policing as part of their Council Tax.

Following an extensive consultation process we ran over the summer, more than 5,000 people told us what service areas they felt the Commissioner should be prioritising. This essential feedback has provided us clarity of purpose, ensuring your priorities are our priorities. To deliver with impact, these priorities will require investment, and the Commissioner now needs to carefully consider how to best utilise the funding available and the additional funding we need to raise to ensure we can continue to invest in your local policing, deliver proactive results in crime prevention and bolster the support provided to victims.

Before a decision on the budget needs to be made in January 2025, the Commissioner is urging people who live in South Wales to share their views on how much they are prepared to pay towards local policing in South Wales through their council tax in the upcoming year.
