VAWDASV stands for Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence - a term used in Wales to encompass a range of issues, including violence against women and girls, domestic abuse, and sexual violence.
The Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 (VAWDASV Act) was the first piece of legislation in the UK to explicitly address violence against women.
'Ask and Act' is a Welsh Government initiative, stemming from the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015, that aims to improve responses to VAWDASV by training professionals to identify and respond to such incidents through targeted inquiries and providing appropriate support.
